Welcome to PJ University, where we teach you how to use PayJunction like a pro. Today’s lesson is how to create cumulative reports.

If you’re used to a traditional credit card terminal, where you had to print out batch totals at the end of the day, our reports are going to save you time, increase organization and provide greater insights into your transactions.

Determine your SAVINGS!

After logging into PayJunction, select “Reports” from the menu on the left, then select “Cumulative Report” from the sub-menu. The page will load with a report that you can customize. To do this, select the time frame menu at the top of the page. This will give you the option to create a report for time frames including, today, this week, month, fiscal quarter and year, as well as previous timeframes.

Now, use the account menu to filter your report this can include all accounts, or just a particular department or terminal.

Once you have set your parameters, it’s time to dive into the data. First, we have a graph showing the total number of transactions, including charges, refunds, the amount for each, as well as net processing and average transaction amount.

The graph in the “brand totals” section displays the percentage of credit card brands and e-checks were used in your transactions. It also includes detailed info, including the number of charges and refunds, amounts for each, and net processing for all individual brands.

The “Accounts” section displays the settled and unsettled transactions for each department, giving you an overview of the total number of transactions, including charges, refunds, the amount for each, as well as net processing. If you would like to see the unsettled batch for a particular department, just click the eye icon on the left and a batch page will load, displaying all of the transactions.

Go Beyond Business Reporting With Search

The Virtual Terminal is able to run these automatic reports because every transaction is stored in the cloud securely. This means you can look, at a macro level, at how your business is doing, but also at a micro level at any given transaction. This is helpful in the event of a chargeback dispute or even just to look at a particular customer and see all payments made over time.

Simply leverage PayJunction’s search functionality to find any transaction based on name, transaction ID, payment date, invoice number, amount and more. You can also search for a customer by name and simply recharge, refund or set up a recurring billing schedule with the payment information on file. This works with credit cards, debit cards and ACH checks.
